We define crash folding as the folding a document at the least one time, after which eventually folding it again over the previous folds. For an A3 Crash folded to DL, it means that we will take an A3 sheet, fold it in 1/2 to A4 and then crash fold it to DL.

A3 crash folded to DL printed flyers are used wherein the layout requires A3 size printing, but the finished size requires being much smaller (e.g. DL). This is frequently the case for direct mailing and advertising campaigns in which the flyers want to be sent in DL envelopes. Crash folding also can be extraordinarily effective when it is critical to give out informational or promotional material in a compact format.

Printing Options

We offer various standard product options for our published A3 crash folded to DL.

Size:

The flat size before folding is A3 (420 x 297mm) and the finished size after folding is DL (99 x 210mm)

Printing:

Full-color double-sided

Fold Type:

Firstly, we will fold your printing in half to form 4 x A4 length panels (2 on the front and 2 at the back). We will then crash fold (both roll fold and z-fold) the printing to DL length. This will create a folded flyer with 12 x DL panels (6 per side).

When roll folding, your printing may be folded inward inside the same direction two times.

When z-folding, we will fold your printing 2 times. Each fold will open in the opposite direction to its neighbor to give a concertina impact.

You can pick from famous stock weights inclusive of 115gsm and 150gsm in stock options such as gloss art paper, matt-satin art paper, and recycled art paper.
